I also had issues with delivery which took about a month to resolve meaning I couldn't take them consistently.<br />
<div style="text-align: right;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<b>Did they work?</b><br />
Short answer: <b>yes. </b>But I wasn't happy with the results.<br />

<br />
Taking the pills meant I was constantly doing mini length checks, looking at my hair, thinking about hair growth etc.<br />
<br />
It also meant I was determined to hold onto every cm of length I had even if my ends needed a trim because I was determined to see if they worked and to get my hair as long as possible. This unhealthy attitude meant I was thinking about length over health, looking back at photos my hair my ends looked awful!<br />
<br />
Finally, I wondered what pumping my body full of this super pill was actually doing to my body and my liver, it made me question if I really wanted to continue.<br />
<br />
Ultimately, the pills did double my hair growth from 1/2 inch a month to an inch a month. But at the expense of healthy hair, and possibly a healthy body. Not to mention they are reasonably expensive.<br />

<br /></div>
<br />
Anyone who follows me on twitter would've seen that I went ahead and bought a steam pod. It cost me £126.. a bargain, but considering i'm a student it probably wasn't the most sensible buy. However, I LOVE it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
The steam pod is made up on a little water pod and the flat iron, the flat iron is more bulky than what I'm used to but it's not too heavy.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjO7PBtkiwFjJWXAIMSLmNzigDMV6ogr1tiz82-VZCYd_LSfAmKEE8jMsRSoYUN_6F8CkeYSZhjytL9hbi6ZXm-CdpJq6rbtqiTFTP54QB3G4t3tzy_AR1-G3YpNxEx_GfU8-9-R1jBwQs/s1600/DSC_0934.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="402" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjO7PBtkiwFjJWXAIMSLmNzigDMV6ogr1tiz82-VZCYd_LSfAmKEE8jMsRSoYUN_6F8CkeYSZhjytL9hbi6ZXm-CdpJq6rbtqiTFTP54QB3G4t3tzy_AR1-G3YpNxEx_GfU8-9-R1jBwQs/s640/DSC_0934.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
That flat iron has a dial on the front, has light up blue lights when it's on and has arrows for for which way you should use the the iron. The reason you have to follow to arrows is because the steam come out on one side.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
There are these teeth which help to smooth the hair down and it makes straightening a bit easier. Thankfully though it is removable so if you're worried about it breaking off your hair you can easily pull it out.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
On the side there is and on and off switch along with a + and - buttons in order to change the temperature. There is five temperature settings from 170 degrees c, I find that 180 is the best for my hair.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
On top of the pod is this little water container, you have to fill it up with deionised water. You can buy deionised water from my hardware stores. I got a huge bottle of it for 2£.25. The reason you need to use deionised water is because it stop lime scale forming in the iron. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTG1I9KafxcmWwmwjsfGbjWW5-yqYaJsHWgmC1RiMhdCVWVXriQcd_785X85i15X-2IlCvvSxn6oNtJRvVzvcH8v3x7ANMCAUmN9V_AduenbVvis7SyRF4LitqpWvELGxmPxRppH5zClI/s1600/DSC_0951.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTG1I9KafxcmWwmwjsfGbjWW5-yqYaJsHWgmC1RiMhdCVWVXriQcd_785X85i15X-2IlCvvSxn6oNtJRvVzvcH8v3x7ANMCAUmN9V_AduenbVvis7SyRF4LitqpWvELGxmPxRppH5zClI/s640/DSC_0951.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I've never had to refill the pod during use however it does pretty much run out after straightening my whole head.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The water container slots onto the top of the steam pod and clicks into place. The pod also has little feet which stick onto flat surfaces. This prevents it moving around when you're trying to style your hair.</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg05JQxtUPoJGsP2huP0LWfMyvfA77f7qOTOw2G5sp7lhxfQeI_nWE6JE6e-sVepE5T2ka3KUeySCaIXXF3pM0OefM6p8yuu4_6Js9iualDju3DEVbHzcvJWUIGLkPMeERCUMlnAfq_s6M/s1600/DSC_0974.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg05JQxtUPoJGsP2huP0LWfMyvfA77f7qOTOw2G5sp7lhxfQeI_nWE6JE6e-sVepE5T2ka3KUeySCaIXXF3pM0OefM6p8yuu4_6Js9iualDju3DEVbHzcvJWUIGLkPMeERCUMlnAfq_s6M/s640/DSC_0974.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It's also recommend that you use these two particular products with the steam pod. They are £17 each but I got one for free with the steam pod and one for 15% off. The products are light weight and I actually really like them. I will however eventually experiment with different products when using the steam pod.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The results of the steam pod are sleek, shiny and beautiful hair. I find that I can never really wear my hair straight when I straighten with GHD's because my hair tends to be frizzy and it just doesn't look sleek. I've got a feeling it's because flat irons just dry my hair out, in comparison the steam infuses moisture in to the hair so I could wear my hair straight if I chose to.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>What do you think of the steam pod?</b><br />

But I am alive! I have just had a lot of life changes over the last few months. I've sat my university exams, written a dissertation, graduated from university, got my first graduate job, broken my wrist, and generally been enjoying myself.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I'm going to start this up again slowly but please bare with me - I'm also off travelling for a few months in February!</div>

<br />
As it's my last year of university I really need to focus, so for that reason I won't be posting for a while. My exams finish at the end of May but I then have a lot going on in my final few weeks as a student. Feel free to Email me if you want a question answered in the mean time. I will be posting a manetabolism update soon early June.<br />

<br />
I paid $52.74 for two bottles which included half price delivery to the UK, I then had to pay £13 in handling costs. So in total I paid £44 for 2 months... which is quite a lot tbh.<br />
<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>They were out of stock when I bought them online so they ended up taking nearly a month to arrive, which is ridiculous but hopefully worth the wait.<br />

I'm hoping it will increase my hair growth, below is a starting picture. I'll update in a month (ish) when I've finished a bottle which will be around the start of June. In that time my hair would normally grow about half an inch but i'm hoping for closer one inches.<br />

Starting picture is from April 13th.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
I have started taking these today (May 1st 2014) but am using the above picture as my starting photos since my hair would've grown very little since then. </div>

I shampoo my hair with a non-sulphate shampoo twice. I only put shampoo on the roots of my hair so I don't dry out my ends. Mostly, I shampoo my hair twice to be sure it's clean. Next I condition my hair with a a slippery conditioner, I often go for a <a href="http://mixed-hair.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/my-mild-protein-conditioner-1st-march.html">mild protein conditioner</a> in order to keep my hair strong. <br />
<br />
Next I deep condition my hair, for the most part I use my staple deep conditioner which you can read about <a href="http://mixed-hair.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/my-staple-deep-conditioner.html">here.</a><br />
<div>
<br /></div>

<br />
I leave this in my hair for a minimum of forty five minutes and then detangle my hair before washing it out.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I style my hair in lots of different styles depending on what i'm doing. </div>
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
When I chose to go for no heat styles I first add my leave ins, this typically includes one of my favourites but mixed roots, which you can read about <a href="http://mixed-hair.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/my-new-favourite-leave-in-conditioner.html">here</a> with a little bit of something protein based.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I very rarely let my hair air dry and leave it completely. In other words, I do not "wash and go" Instead I put my hair in a protective style to stop it rubbing against my clothes and to avoid manipulation about 60-70% of the time. My chosen protective style is normally a messy bun. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3qdl9pzF_P5rxFikw2YJbXvskjxYAtNiWb21VllX-OYSj5bwYJYc8V0nbLFtkDtVuo__ENWnfqUCQP-4KrXgz0GswX1X1FESDdY4rdcjEGcWQs7zFlh0xef5ZGOQ8y_Ci0_F0cgazt6k/s1600/Screen+Shot+2013-12-20+at+23.42.42.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3qdl9pzF_P5rxFikw2YJbXvskjxYAtNiWb21VllX-OYSj5bwYJYc8V0nbLFtkDtVuo__ENWnfqUCQP-4KrXgz0GswX1X1FESDdY4rdcjEGcWQs7zFlh0xef5ZGOQ8y_Ci0_F0cgazt6k/s640/Screen+Shot+2013-12-20+at+23.42.42.png" height="90" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I often use limited heat when I'm in a rush, when I don't have time to let my hair air dry.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
When using any heat it's important to use products which are suitable for use with heat. Lets not forget the horrible, yet amusing, video of a girl who literally burnt her hair off. This is most likely because she used products which should not be used with heat. For this reason I use various products which aim to strengthen and protect hair with heat usage such as Aveda.. and aphogee..<br />
<br />
Once i've added my favourite products to my hair I'll blow dry my hair and normally put it in a protective style.<br />
<br />
Although this style uses limited heat, it's still damaging so I do my best to go for completely no heat styles more often and I always use a heat protectant.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFvV-n0OrfSIPbM0Jds-g9jlFj9R-D7B3BBF4EmYCWvs5LRn8jmYsIzhSXkVNaUZYCEZU5svGFxFjlsgSp2n2jKyJhFZuML9hPWUILeM5UiBUB6WObmAciXJG-fR1ERa5aYtmMyPD3toI/s1600/Screen+Shot+2013-12-20+at+23.42.55.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFvV-n0OrfSIPbM0Jds-g9jlFj9R-D7B3BBF4EmYCWvs5LRn8jmYsIzhSXkVNaUZYCEZU5svGFxFjlsgSp2n2jKyJhFZuML9hPWUILeM5UiBUB6WObmAciXJG-fR1ERa5aYtmMyPD3toI/s640/Screen+Shot+2013-12-20+at+23.42.55.png" height="104" width="640" /></a></div>
I like to straighten or flat iron my hair often. In this case I do not blow dry my hair, I'll either leave it over night or let it air dry. As some of you may know my current flat iron is the steam pod. I absolutely love it but it requires I use certain products and technics which you can read about <a href="http://mixed-hair.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/my-new-love-steampod.html">here.</a><br />
<br />
It's hard for me to quantify how much I actually straighten my hair as it all depends on what is going on in my life. For example, whilst I'm revising or writing a big piece of course work I won't straighten my hair. If I'm going out a lot I will straighten it more often. I straighten my hair around once every 2-3 weeks and occasionally I will do a few touch ups although I tend to avoid them.<br />
<br />

When my hair is curly I put it in a <a href="http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlreading/kinky-hair-type-4a/how-to-pineapple-your-hair/">pineapple</a>, and when it's straightened I put it in a bun or flexi rods.<br />
I'll occasionally use different methods such as hot oil treatments, hard protein treatments or something completely different.<br />
<br />

<br />
I know this is a bit of a random time to do a length check but I've been home from university this week so I can get proper photos.<br />
<br />
Please excuse my messy curls.<br />

Here is my length check from around January 1st.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4LAVAkUqC6TTsDykJxV2zdO7cl0t7mfZsN2aCDP7fyfh9CGJ6gv6m9K7tKYyHtwkkPqYENpYlb9piYLFnqq3UlbeKciBbkvDekK2wvF034br9q4WOEWRjmM4GfjU_Cy2eedrJsiuniTY/s1600/DSC_0675.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4LAVAkUqC6TTsDykJxV2zdO7cl0t7mfZsN2aCDP7fyfh9CGJ6gv6m9K7tKYyHtwkkPqYENpYlb9piYLFnqq3UlbeKciBbkvDekK2wvF034br9q4WOEWRjmM4GfjU_Cy2eedrJsiuniTY/s1600/DSC_0675.JPG" height="400" width="265" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As you can see above, this photo from 13th April I've made a nice amount of progress. I'd say it's about 1 1/2-2 inches of the 2 inches I would have expected which is about right as I gave myself a light trim a few days prior to this being taken and there is probably a small margin of error from my finger covering up some hair and from the way I'm wearing my clothes.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

A few years ago I heard about dominican (I think) products called kanechomn and silicon mix. These people <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBYodwwL-YA">here</a> and <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEWo4sB9ZBM">here</a> were raving about how it made their hair look and feel.<br />

At the time I couldn't get the products here in England, but a few weeks ago I found them on Amazon! I was SO excited to try them out. The idea is that you mix up 2:1 Kanechom to silicon mix.<br />

After completing inversion for a week I can say that if I hold my hair one way it looks like I've gained an inch. If I hold it a different way I haven't gained anything.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
To cut a long story short, I really can't tell if i've made progress but I'm assuming I haven't.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I think I need to improve my length check techniques, I read a great post <a href="http://blackgirllonghair.com/2014/03/5-tips-to-help-you-conduct-a-proper-length-check/">here</a> about length checks and will follow thing method in future.</div>

This month I'm determined to give it a proper try.<br />
<br />
If you don't know what it is continue reading, but some people gain an inch or more in one week.<br />
<br />
Here is my before picture, which shows that my hair has retained an inch since January so i've lost about 1/2 an inch from breakage which I have now corrected:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<a name='more'></a>How I do the inversion:<br />
1. Warm up a little bit of olive oil and give myself a five minute scalp massage.<br />
2. Sit on my sofa and lean down towards my feet.<br />
3. Sit like that for four minutes.<br />
4. Brush out the oil and use a dry shampoo.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<a href="http://journey2waistlength.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/the-inversion-method-grow-1-2-inches-of.html">See Journey 2 Waist lengths results here.</a></div>
<br />
<br />
Toady I am at number one my DIY length check shirt (even though the number is covered by my arm) gaining one more inch would put me at the line below meaning I'd only be three inches from waist length!<br />
<br />
I really want to be as close to waist length as possible in mid July, which is possible if I have 100% retention and gain an inch with each inversion challenge so fingers crossed.<br />
<br />
I'll update in a week or so and show you guys any progress i've made.<br />
<br />
If you want to read more about the inversion method read it <a href="http://pocahontas-secrets.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/the-inversion-method-1-inch-in-1-week.html">here.</a><br />

I don't know what to do with my child's curly hair.I get a lot of Emails and comments from mothers and fathers who have no idea how to care for their curly/ multiracial/ mixed hair, and I can totally sympathise as my mother (who has fine, bone straight hair) had NO clue what to do with my hair when I was a child.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4jdxhMIPfYcWt6HBpt8ZvyfCiY3rkHRatBs9Ikjnp7ffdK5l2T_VM4TRG27kGIlYR8jCAtYMPUm4xSbuKA7kbiQzsSsoatbRnmw96XP7Y-gL6Gyty-NFhJYG79QYnawAKUyHeoNdkhis/s1600/76f2993fb3af19c7732ea01505d6958d.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4jdxhMIPfYcWt6HBpt8ZvyfCiY3rkHRatBs9Ikjnp7ffdK5l2T_VM4TRG27kGIlYR8jCAtYMPUm4xSbuKA7kbiQzsSsoatbRnmw96XP7Y-gL6Gyty-NFhJYG79QYnawAKUyHeoNdkhis/s1600/76f2993fb3af19c7732ea01505d6958d.jpg" height="400" width="298" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
1. Encourage your children to love their curls and don't use negative words when talking about their hair around them. How do you feel when your hair is looking a bit of mess? - this is how your child could be feeling 24/7 if they don't love their curls!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihU_zdATztdzwI7wAF3FY9ywXQOaCVAHefYBa0vnP9vGx4URLzcWZIQu4V18Q1ecaMCxCecOMKnEVs4LO_eYH5iktZcZJsjhG3dCFnA__2Fr9HOxQoDndqtGx5VCnWW0mY_w62xqwsLRk/s1600/518366aa122ac503295d8a7293bc0aed.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihU_zdATztdzwI7wAF3FY9ywXQOaCVAHefYBa0vnP9vGx4URLzcWZIQu4V18Q1ecaMCxCecOMKnEVs4LO_eYH5iktZcZJsjhG3dCFnA__2Fr9HOxQoDndqtGx5VCnWW0mY_w62xqwsLRk/s1600/518366aa122ac503295d8a7293bc0aed.jpg" height="320" width="273" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
2. Don't brush their dry curls, in fact you don't need to brush their hair at all! Personally I detangle my hair once a week, there is no need to put a brush through curls once a day or more. Instead, comb their hair with a wide tooth comb when their hair is covered in loads of slippery conditioner.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiG0YA457o7ngHZE2wxUt-_6OWLN4c-kCOZig5tilPpxWn00RtMlbdPetcymZjVfabGaidChkdPaOn23BiOxMnv4-XcV_EgiZoYPg358wRvWxJCuDjqjwxKk3wDT4cjql2wRnP8Y1b5rNQ/s1600/92a4a3db842063d49ce663c96c1b1bbd.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiG0YA457o7ngHZE2wxUt-_6OWLN4c-kCOZig5tilPpxWn00RtMlbdPetcymZjVfabGaidChkdPaOn23BiOxMnv4-XcV_EgiZoYPg358wRvWxJCuDjqjwxKk3wDT4cjql2wRnP8Y1b5rNQ/s1600/92a4a3db842063d49ce663c96c1b1bbd.jpg" height="400" width="357" /></a></div>
<br />
3. When you do comb, be gentle. You don't want to rip through their curls, doing your child's hair doesn't have to be a horrible experience. Simply start combing their hair at the ends and work your way up to he roots slowly!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqelApOL0nyuss79nnkAHQnTDLdsLO9Tsv2UaZJmiOUP31refxjM73Qn1bmkSU7fDCptJnaENc9mwCCru1bByBjsHbZ2Wyq_q76xK3AoADCoSy3FkO95uGzN2YDpbQwnG3sYcJHd7q5dI/s1600/Screen+Shot+2014-03-22+at+13.45.06.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqelApOL0nyuss79nnkAHQnTDLdsLO9Tsv2UaZJmiOUP31refxjM73Qn1bmkSU7fDCptJnaENc9mwCCru1bByBjsHbZ2Wyq_q76xK3AoADCoSy3FkO95uGzN2YDpbQwnG3sYcJHd7q5dI/s1600/Screen+Shot+2014-03-22+at+13.45.06.png" height="307" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
4. When washing their hair, there is no need to cover it in shampoo and pile it all on top of their head. Instead just wash the roots gently. Since curly hair is drier than straight hair it does't need a ton of shampoos.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiP4bjnB-YZzooM6de1A1UXqPIKOnUCLKdyIa8I354htpga_zOUtFelcOaL75cRpkrtAZ1zSAHmm45WyWe-mWMFE44gcuq0-z0XoLdHcOjUoxokbBoYd3xUFWstCqcCXmHSJTIyYIwApBY/s1600/e3f5830ff7b6a907849c31086075cf00.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiP4bjnB-YZzooM6de1A1UXqPIKOnUCLKdyIa8I354htpga_zOUtFelcOaL75cRpkrtAZ1zSAHmm45WyWe-mWMFE44gcuq0-z0XoLdHcOjUoxokbBoYd3xUFWstCqcCXmHSJTIyYIwApBY/s1600/e3f5830ff7b6a907849c31086075cf00.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
5. Condition, condition and deep condition. Conditioner is a key step in keeping curly hair beautiful, shiny, frizz free and healthy. Get into the habit of deep conditioning, put a deep conditioner on your child's hair at least once every two weeks and leave it in as long as possible.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhg95QghyphenhypheniXhCKJibAHFPxT6sWQ95-81J2kd6yfiEZ2lFYqPoIDRTNKMxHAH2T5JIwT7VAY-KpD4IwLVDwN6fvbL6J0wlPByT7UOWgbU7jf0RMw8gPYJs3kzoWsUsmfwtxbKHN455D1KzE/s1600/076b278a3037736019ecf46b4ef4d174.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhg95QghyphenhypheniXhCKJibAHFPxT6sWQ95-81J2kd6yfiEZ2lFYqPoIDRTNKMxHAH2T5JIwT7VAY-KpD4IwLVDwN6fvbL6J0wlPByT7UOWgbU7jf0RMw8gPYJs3kzoWsUsmfwtxbKHN455D1KzE/s1600/076b278a3037736019ecf46b4ef4d174.jpg" height="320" width="216" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
6. Minimise the use of heat, chemicals or anything which will stop their hair being curly. Heat and relaxers not only break the hair but using these can result in a child who dislikes their hair.<br />

7. Find curly role models for your child. It can be hard growing up with curly hair, when all your role models have straight hair. The best way to do this is by having a look at curly hair on pinterest with a similar texture to your child. Whenever they are feeling down about their hair just show them how beautiful curly hair is.<br />

I have been meaning to post this for a lonnnggg time so here goes.<br />
<br />
Some of you will remember that I got a treatment by design essentials called the Strengthening Therapy System or STS. You can read about it <a href="http://mixed-hair.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/design-essentials-strengthening-therapy.html">here</a>. I loved it and even bought a bottle of it so I could do it at home!<br />

<br />
Recently, I had a look over photos of my hair for 2013 and noticed my lack of progress. Here I try to work out if it's due to this system or something else.<br />

<br />
This was my hair at the end of May 2013, a <span style="text-align: center;">2 inch cut brought me back to where I was in February.</span><br />
<br />
This is my hair in January 7 months later. In this time I should've had 3 1/2 inches of growth. Instead my hair appeared to have grown very little.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRJ8BqGqC83vCeXGmNpUI052s5v64lszDqoMfd1VShAgX_LAxxGu9MBUzV7BKg7VPkVAkp34yBwz-OOS6qV_LSW1EMSM9i_c5ziREHN07bH_smpl0N8mwZt_HJrKKnfs2YZGqd6H8uaYA/s1600/DSC_0672.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRJ8BqGqC83vCeXGmNpUI052s5v64lszDqoMfd1VShAgX_LAxxGu9MBUzV7BKg7VPkVAkp34yBwz-OOS6qV_LSW1EMSM9i_c5ziREHN07bH_smpl0N8mwZt_HJrKKnfs2YZGqd6H8uaYA/s1600/DSC_0672.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I did get another inch trimmed meaning in total between May and Jan I should've had at least three more inches, instead I have none.<br />
<br />
<b>In simple terms, of the six inches I should've retained in 2013 I had 3 inches cut off and 3 just disappeared!</b><br />
<br />
I wouldn't see it as an issue if I had only lost one inch but to loose three just doesn't seem right!<br />
<br />
So what has happened between May 2013 and December? Well some of you may recall, I had the DE STS twice.<br />
<br />
Now this could be due to a few things:<br />
1) The treatment seemed to affect my scalp, possibly resulting in shedding/ loss of growth (although it may not be due to the treatment).<br />
2) Heat damage: The process required blow drying on a high heat twice, flat ironing with a high heat about 5 times.<br />
3) Manipulation: During the treatment my hair was combed through with a fine tooth comb and I did feel that it ripped out some of my hair.<br />
<br />
Or maybe a mixture of everything? Or something else? Either way I'm going to avoid DE for a while and closely look at my hair. In a few months I'll hopefully come up with a conclusion.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Do you try to pinpoint how you loose inches over the year?</b></div>

Well I've opened it up again (for now).<br />
<br />
Just thought I'd let you guys know that I won't be posting much over the next few weeks as it is my final year of university and I need to focus on my dissertation at the moment.<br />
<br />
Sorry if this is annoying, feel free to ask me questions still but I may take a little longer than usual to reply.<br />

Rather than having big protein treatments every so often I choose to use a protein based conditioner more regularly. My current favourite is this!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYeDR29kKgo-6eyKPm3n0YSD_usuRzpzV8AbN6QE1RqbpCNwa6q998AKH8J8XJatX-nUDEkVgXWb32WbkkKE9-71LOKFwUHO2-VRcuZBB2kaWVe82zBFgDpOVHjtc14y0_PwhwWgiICGI/s1600/DSC_0993.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYeDR29kKgo-6eyKPm3n0YSD_usuRzpzV8AbN6QE1RqbpCNwa6q998AKH8J8XJatX-nUDEkVgXWb32WbkkKE9-71LOKFwUHO2-VRcuZBB2kaWVe82zBFgDpOVHjtc14y0_PwhwWgiICGI/s640/DSC_0993.jpg" height="640" width="352" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a>It's very important to incorporate protein into your hair care routine a protein is what keeps hair strong and keeps the hairs natural structure. This means your hair can grow long and your curls can pop!<br />
<br />
If you have relaxed/ damaged/ colour treated hair then it may be better to use protein more often or to use a stronger type. Since my hair is natural, not coloured treated and mostly healthy this works perfectly for me!<br />
<br />
This conditioner smells great and is super creamy. The only down side is that it doesn't have a whole lot of slip, making detangling with it on my hair hard. Despite that I do love it, and thank god considering I have a huge salon size amount of it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-oFblmSHz-8UIZ9v9EAKNyh5KMqE8gBB8ijEhDc3aVOODtLnYWdjwtz2t9ZphgW5prlasUocRr1N50hJTa5kRnP26FTSVPWDlaE2wXev7pWSk31-Ub75GoaHD1mqC_X4ArVHhvaMOsHE/s1600/DSC_1000.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-oFblmSHz-8UIZ9v9EAKNyh5KMqE8gBB8ijEhDc3aVOODtLnYWdjwtz2t9ZphgW5prlasUocRr1N50hJTa5kRnP26FTSVPWDlaE2wXev7pWSk31-Ub75GoaHD1mqC_X4ArVHhvaMOsHE/s640/DSC_1000.jpg" height="640" width="398" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I've had it a while but it cost me about £15 from TK Max which is a bargain for such a good and big conditioner.<br />
<br />
I use it after shampooing and before deep conditioning to give my hair a protein hit. I use it probably every other wash and think it's a great way to improve the strength of my hair, especially if I'm going to use heat on it.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>How do you incorporate protein into your routine?</b></div>

It's super easy and you can adjust it to your needs. For example, I chose not to just have numbers and instead have chosen to mark it to my body on it, this stops me having to wear so little when taking photos of my length.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5-4OSrg8vcJsWtchPeNGeAE-753U4AllCeaqMcyp2zWAaITpNbm1CSlOqMtIbyLsX4C2yT-ugz6xhA2GVy07zFblJFwWXCwmsYgxnDpxwStYK6h2yBInRdzKRok4Vbw8AChWuemnFr_E/s1600/DSC_1054.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5-4OSrg8vcJsWtchPeNGeAE-753U4AllCeaqMcyp2zWAaITpNbm1CSlOqMtIbyLsX4C2yT-ugz6xhA2GVy07zFblJFwWXCwmsYgxnDpxwStYK6h2yBInRdzKRok4Vbw8AChWuemnFr_E/s640/DSC_1054.jpg" height="426" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Next I drew lines from each dot.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTBdIJUMItDnCDDweCBaEkpUws94NA5MArwBX24a-BK4W8gXJsO8AHtTHZgWKjtVaV4JhuIdupHPS8Cs0DBemX7Gzxo7juKNPgMiUcTcPDsBDIVSfQAhweu3kFzUYEC615gXPYyK0L7J4/s1600/DSC_1067.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTBdIJUMItDnCDDweCBaEkpUws94NA5MArwBX24a-BK4W8gXJsO8AHtTHZgWKjtVaV4JhuIdupHPS8Cs0DBemX7Gzxo7juKNPgMiUcTcPDsBDIVSfQAhweu3kFzUYEC615gXPYyK0L7J4/s640/DSC_1067.jpg" height="426" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I then drew dotted lines between two of the lines at one inch intervals. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here I labeled each line.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Here is the final result.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
It's super easy, I don't know why anyone would bother buying a length check t-shirt.</div>

<br /></div>
Ladies, i've decided it's time. Time to step up and admit I have a problem. Thats right, my name is Chantelle and i'm a hair care junkie.<br />

Here are my treatments, in other words things i've bought but will never use. With the exception of the Philip Kingsley pre-poo treatment which I love and have now used up!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here are my "curly" stylers and leave ins, I have no idea how i'll get through these, I can imagine them lasting well over a year. Thankfully my curly haired sister will appreciate some of them. After taking this photo I actually found two more leave ins in my stash!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is my straight hair stylers and leave ins, thank fully a few of these are nearly used up however nine of them have never been used!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Additionally I have about 50+ samples, I like to save these for travel when they come in super useful.</div>

<br />
I can't get over how many products I have, I'm determined to use them up by the end of this year! I'll do an updated product stash half way through the year to see how well i've done at using them up.<br />

This year has been great for both me and my hair! My hair hasn't been this healthy or long in my life. Throughout the year my hair has been grazing waist length but I've been cutting it in order to get rid of damage and to end the year with completely (nearly) healthy hair.</div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
During 2013 I learned a lot about my hair and was much more strict when it came to looking after it, I've deep conditioned once a week (for the most part) and have continually cut off damaged ends. As you can see I gained very little in length due to many trims throughout the year, but hopefully you can also so how much healthier my hair is. My ends are blunt, my hair is shiny and my hair isn't dry!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm so in love with my hair at the moment, including the length. I actually don't know if i'll want my hair much longer, but i'm only about four inches of waist length so I have to go for it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Goals this year:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<ul>
<li>Continue to deep condition weekly</li>
<li>Wear my hair natural more</li>
<li>Use straighteners only once a month</li>
<li>Use inversion once a month</li>
</ul>
</div>
<div>
If I follow these its very possibly I'll be waist length by the end of the year!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

I've realised I don't have a whole lot about my natural hair on here, other than <a href="http://mixed-hair.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/texture-shots.html">these texture shots.</a> So I thought I'd show you all my natural, air dried naked hair and blow dried hair with products.<br />
<br />
The photos have been taken on two separate occasions. The better quality photos are my naked air dried hair, and the webcam photos are blow dried hair with product.<br />
<br />
Air dried naked hair:<br />

<a name='more'></a>For those who like hair typing, I think it's type 3b/c, high density (LOTS of strands) with a mixture of fine and coarse strands. My fine strands tend to frizz up and also tend to be slightly lighter in colour.<br />

Here you can really see the difference a bit of product makes, in the blow dried photo (bottom) in which I've got product in my hair there is no frizz at all.<br />

<br />
I have layers in my hair, which I actually hate but this is why I have some shorter and some longer hairs. When I reach my goal length I will attempt to grow them out completely - however I did go through a period of time when I had "triangle hair" because my hair was short. The layers prevent this.<br />

Macadamia oil deep repair mask!<br />

<br />
As you all should know a key part to an healthy hair routine is a great deep conditioner. Deep conditioners should be used at least once a week and give the hair a much needed protein or moisture hit.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhn_Q7_N61VFYNM-RIQj41wiDR1aRAlaupiJ953VIQCcRAREtd8w0Q6kJbmSkOaGuVHdz4fr5yuCH9KsxQPB0xXODLZOeL29MOSiZ0oHH3mYJHoVRNrp7QNfUJZayzSIXiu3bUUA99Z9g4/s1600/DSC_0251.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="386" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhn_Q7_N61VFYNM-RIQj41wiDR1aRAlaupiJ953VIQCcRAREtd8w0Q6kJbmSkOaGuVHdz4fr5yuCH9KsxQPB0xXODLZOeL29MOSiZ0oHH3mYJHoVRNrp7QNfUJZayzSIXiu3bUUA99Z9g4/s640/DSC_0251.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
After trying a ton of different deep conditioners I've decided this one is my favourite. Why? It makes my hair the softest it's ever been and keeps it super healthy. I also love the texture of it, it's creamy and silky. The only downside is that it's not the best conditioner I've used for detangling but I tend to use a slippery mild protein condition to detangle with before deep conditioning. Best of all it makes my hair noticeably shinier. My sister has even asked me how my hair is looking so shiny lately. Leaving this conditioner in my hair for a minimum of 45 minutes once a week has done wonders for my hair, not to mention I love the smell.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhT0U1gmFoe9dkhUL-xQsPfW19Radwq679NgfliNdLz2hIyPwNh1YMaZnlqfTA1vj96QUo4NupEBRanjqW7MxHMi_S6Z37YulEUBfulH8JwcCcYECgEfrvyyKUi66qXLnQZVSwdZ919wkM/s1600/DSC_0239.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhT0U1gmFoe9dkhUL-xQsPfW19Radwq679NgfliNdLz2hIyPwNh1YMaZnlqfTA1vj96QUo4NupEBRanjqW7MxHMi_S6Z37YulEUBfulH8JwcCcYECgEfrvyyKUi66qXLnQZVSwdZ919wkM/s640/DSC_0239.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I got mine <a href="http://www.lookfantastic.com/macadamia-natural-oil-deep-repair-masque-500ml/10556775.html?utm_source=googleprod&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=gp_haircare&affil=thggpsad&switchcurrency=GBP&gclid=CNvtlYLbv7sCFRMRtAodlVMAQA">here</a> which was £29.40 for 500ml. I'm about half way through and it's lasted me about 10 weeks, despite having tons and tons and tons of hair. I really don't need a lot of it meaning it lasts forever.<br />
<br />
This really is the best deep conditioner I've ever had.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEhYfa01TzFK5dsoZwKnDucI4j2-uJ7GI6RukH93RyWfumlx3pPP7eNnJGcpmpPjDEt-sVY9tsusFvFH6BkhTgHQkvjC0p6DtP6yJK7sOyeFrleOxFHA8G-_ki_fVODahkgOUuo8q5wGk/s1600/DSC_0257.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEhYfa01TzFK5dsoZwKnDucI4j2-uJ7GI6RukH93RyWfumlx3pPP7eNnJGcpmpPjDEt-sVY9tsusFvFH6BkhTgHQkvjC0p6DtP6yJK7sOyeFrleOxFHA8G-_ki_fVODahkgOUuo8q5wGk/s640/DSC_0257.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
When my hair needs an extra deep condition I heat up the conditioner, which is what you can see in the picture above. I put boiling wear in one boil and the conditioner in a second bowel, the steam from the boiling water heats the conditioner. This helps to get the conditioner right into the hair strand and leaves my hair even better than normal.<br />
<br />
Macadmia oil deep repair mask + steam pod (post coming soon) = the best hair i've had.<br />
<br />

The importance of reflection on anything, whether it be work experience, exams or a hair journey is important for a few reasons including seeing what works, what doesn't and even by seeing how far you've come.<br />
<br />
The first time I started a hair journey was in 2007 when I was 14. Back then my hair was shoulder length, relaxed, dry and damaged. Here is the photo of how horrible my hair was. Sorry for the awful quality but like I said it was 2007!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7A_gu1G0p5D3To9eqVtBXpf4l3Vumr4GObZtFjo-OO4vp63IIQfvUvdZT8eJlUdkp6rcIO7zfa0clM0YMnn_Ue4-2KrlZtLF8WFpk0TyR6eMp_YDsmbsyEm-eBPzmigkz-DbK7WSSF5A/s1600/Screen+Shot+2013-12-16+at+18.31.12.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7A_gu1G0p5D3To9eqVtBXpf4l3Vumr4GObZtFjo-OO4vp63IIQfvUvdZT8eJlUdkp6rcIO7zfa0clM0YMnn_Ue4-2KrlZtLF8WFpk0TyR6eMp_YDsmbsyEm-eBPzmigkz-DbK7WSSF5A/s1600/Screen+Shot+2013-12-16+at+18.31.12.png" /></a></div>
<br />
I wore my hair in a bun a lot and didn't use much heat on it at all, however it was still pretty damaged. I've come to the conclusion that my hair just doesn't react very well to relaxers.<br />
<br />
<br />
Below are photos two years later in 2009.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
I had a lot of split ends and little length retention, my hair got to APL relaxed. It definitely wash't healthy but it was a huge improvement.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Skip forward to now. Only this year I can say my hair is truly healthy, I have little breakage (although still more than I would like). I've trimmed at least four inches of hair over the year to get rid of some damage but i'm still grazing MBL! It's crazy to see the transformation my hair has made over the years. Below is various photos from 2013.</div>

When I work up my hair felt horrible every time I touched it it broke off. The breaks were about an inch long and looking at the end of them they didn't have split ends. I realised I had my first encounter with a moisture load. Thank fully I knew what to do.<br />

<br />
I bought this about a year ago and when my hair was damaged I used it around once every 8 weeks. Now that my hair is no longer damaged I use it when I need it. Therefore, this was the first time I had used it in around 6 months. The recommended time to leave it on your hair is 2 minutes for normal breakage or 5 minutes for extreme breakage. I left it on for about 4 minutes and then rinsed it out. I left my hair alone for a week by putting in a bun and the breakage had completely stopped. You can get stronger protein treatments, which is especially useful for chemically damaged hair but as I'm natural I feel like that would be too much protein.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvnV0fQX2Klo8cnBnidgJyB_RligL0LSU9jFk36ffAshuTKBSI612ji5iCcb90syl7vxtamzF0I-1ypWRi1nCwZfTnje3a0j75WMVcEb_wOC1CFL8vzXlu7s_yDpGfTAYGXXkHqgUN5QI/s1600/70386153-260x260-0-0_Tigi+TIGI+Catwalk+Headshot+Intense+Reconstructive+.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvnV0fQX2Klo8cnBnidgJyB_RligL0LSU9jFk36ffAshuTKBSI612ji5iCcb90syl7vxtamzF0I-1ypWRi1nCwZfTnje3a0j75WMVcEb_wOC1CFL8vzXlu7s_yDpGfTAYGXXkHqgUN5QI/s1600/70386153-260x260-0-0_Tigi+TIGI+Catwalk+Headshot+Intense+Reconstructive+.jpeg" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Catwalk Headshot</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
A word of warning, you CAN get too much protein. If your hair is lacking protein (breaking easily, hard and brittle) then use it. But don't over use. If you're not sure on if your hair needs protein why not use a reconstructive (lighter) protein treatment such as Catwalk: headshot.<br />
<br />

<b>Do you use protein as much as you should?</b></div>

Even if you've bought hair dressing scissors they can still get blunt after a while.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdsBZwadypwiU6MREXFbhr8JO2cj187ztaAkX20v9sE0fFFXnXWmxNi8kOp-9qUe7fgmTYxdWUqe61I4tE56CsCc1eoKaN629PKFNUiqkjaxEIzEYEATvHlCQMBJQmiGooVs3AqE3Pxak/s1600/large.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdsBZwadypwiU6MREXFbhr8JO2cj187ztaAkX20v9sE0fFFXnXWmxNi8kOp-9qUe7fgmTYxdWUqe61I4tE56CsCc1eoKaN629PKFNUiqkjaxEIzEYEATvHlCQMBJQmiGooVs3AqE3Pxak/s320/large.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
2. Using dirty brushes<br />
Cleaning out your brushes doesn't just mean pulling the hair out. There is a simple tutorial <a href="http://www.wikihow.com/Clean-Hairbrushes-and-Combs">here</a>.<br />
<br />
3.Applying shampoo to your ends.<br />
You only need to apply shampoo to your roots. The remaining shampoo will fall down your hair strand and take the dirt with it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLYzHji6VTqGrZBaKpsGrQ6I2ePh2lrgqF56HYssry00h-7fbvW31FRtjfikV3GcLS5N0p9wtP4pv3biHvcOLWZh5eHopEyK2FH7GSlJQ0YekS4ltQ6sr_NzErSffvzJrJ_bYLvg0zJZk/s1600/large-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="254" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLYzHji6VTqGrZBaKpsGrQ6I2ePh2lrgqF56HYssry00h-7fbvW31FRtjfikV3GcLS5N0p9wtP4pv3biHvcOLWZh5eHopEyK2FH7GSlJQ0YekS4ltQ6sr_NzErSffvzJrJ_bYLvg0zJZk/s320/large-1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
4. Using a blow dryer on dripping wet hair.<br />
Wait till your hair is 70% dry before using a hair dryer, it reduces heat usage and can prevent breakage<br />
<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
5. Not drinking enough water<br />
Aim to drink four pints of water a day. In fact, go grab a glass now!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj71sbLrxM56LIfEljFA6fVmIgrP_iECQqpCUZX-b9yG3n-4eSIdj9wNIDoUnbT2SohmX0Ofk4xiIAqNGJ9EYR2jWUFaAVYxPtnEhcFoWqMm9olIgEjWK4chOmtCtli2ySvbwAExhMxM-c/s1600/large-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj71sbLrxM56LIfEljFA6fVmIgrP_iECQqpCUZX-b9yG3n-4eSIdj9wNIDoUnbT2SohmX0Ofk4xiIAqNGJ9EYR2jWUFaAVYxPtnEhcFoWqMm9olIgEjWK4chOmtCtli2ySvbwAExhMxM-c/s320/large-2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
6. Covering your scalp in conditioner<br />
This can lead to build up.<br />
<br />
7. Putting your bun or pony tail in the same place<br />
This can result in breakage from the constant pulling of some areas of your hair<br />
<br />
8. Thinking you can fix split ends.<br />
You just can't, trim them!<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
9. Not going seasonal<br />
It's important to recognise that your hair faces different problems in different seasons. For example, in the sun your hair needs a heat protectant and in the winter your hair might need extra conditioning.<br />
<br />
10. Not giving your hair a break<br />
If your hair is in a bun all the time be sure to change it up every so often (see number 7) equally if you wear your hair down or heat styled try some protective styling from time to time.<br />
