Inversion method results!

Just over a week ago I wrote this post about the inversion method. Well my week of inversion finished on Thursday and i'm excited to let you all know my results.

For the first 3 days I used oil but the remaining days I just massaged my hair. For those first 3 days my head was actually pretty sore after. When "inverting" the first 3 days I let my head dangle off my sofa with it leaning on the floor and for the remaining days I let it dangle on my bed.

Grow an inch in a week: The inversion method

Many of you may have heard of this method, it's one of the biggest band wagons at the moment and it's finally my time to jump on it! The inversion method is a way to increase hair growth and some people have claimed to get four inches in a week.

The method involves heating up some oil e.g. olive oil or coconut oil massaging your head and then doing an inversion for 4 minutes. This is then repeated for a whole week, once a month. Results can also be found without oiling the scalp.

Top four places to get advice about your hair

From newbies to general hair lovers we all need and like to read advice about dealing with our hair issues. But where can we get our information from?. Here are my top four places to get advice about my hair!

When I was first looking into caring for my hair I stumbled across this site. I am now a member and I find that it has a wealth of information which is useful for people just starting out, to people who have been looking after their hair for years.. When signed up you can ask any question and you'll get tons of useful answers. But the forum isn't only about hair, there is also threads about fashion, nails and general chit chat. I find it particularly useful because there are very experienced members on the site, this means that if anyone says/ suggests something there will always be people to back it up or reject it. This means you end up with

Winter hairspiration

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't posted much. I've just moved back to university and as usual it's come with lots of complications. I've fallen off the hair wagon and haven't been looking after my hair as well as I normally too. The easiest way to rectify this is to see some beautiful ladies with stunning hair!

So for now I though i'd share a bit of hairspiration with you all.

Texture Shots

Today I thought I'd share some photos of my natural texture. I have a huge range of textures throughout my head and since my hair is so dense I found it particularly hard to take photos of  the curls, but here is my attempt.

Errol Douglas: Treat & Style Keratin Iron

I would be surprised if you hadn't heard of Errol Douglas, but if you haven't he is some what of a hair hero. He is one of the most influential hairdressers in the world and was recently appointed President of The Fellowship For British Hairdressing. He has now teamed up with Corioliss to create a hair dryer and a straightener (which curls too!).

The most interesting appliance is the straightener, it features a keratin capsule system built into the iron. It results in shiny and healthy hair. I've even read that it can penetrate deep into the cuticle and if anything like the video has to go by, it's true!

A Revelation!

How many sites do you know dedicated to mixed race women? one? two? Even with the huge and fast increae of the mixed race population there is still little diversity recognition from brands in the UK.
New blog ThandieKay.com is a revolution for all mixed race women and women of colour. It has been created by the stunning Thandie Newton and Kay Montano who are both mixed race.
