My mild protein conditioner

Rather than having big protein treatments every so often I choose to use a protein based conditioner more regularly. My current favourite is this!

It's very important to incorporate protein into your hair care routine a protein is what keeps hair strong and keeps the hairs natural structure. This means your hair can grow long and your curls can pop!

If you have relaxed/ damaged/ colour treated hair then it may be better to use protein more often or to use a stronger type. Since my hair is natural, not coloured treated and mostly healthy this works perfectly for me!

This conditioner smells great and is super creamy. The only down side is that it doesn't have a whole lot of slip, making detangling with it on my hair hard. Despite that I do love it, and thank god considering I have a huge salon size amount of it.

I've had it a while but it cost me about £15 from TK Max which is a bargain for such a good and big conditioner.

I use it after shampooing and before deep conditioning to give my hair a protein hit. I use it probably every other wash and think it's a great way to improve the strength of my hair, especially if I'm going to use heat on it.

How do you incorporate protein into your routine?

  1. I usually use a mild protein treatment because my 4c hair does not do well with protein.

    1. That sounds like a good plan, I forgot about being being protein sensitive

  2. I've been deep conditioning with a medium protein conditioner on my ends only bi-weekly. I love that it's keeping breakage at bay.

  3. I use a protein based leave in four or five daysa week and a protein based conditioner. I'm relaxed so I find this helps keep breakage to a minimum.

    1. A protein leave in is a great way to get an extra shot of protein into the hair if needed! Hadn't really thought of that, thanks!
