My new favourite leave-in conditioner

I've always struggled with looking for a good leave-in conditioner with most doing absolutely nothing for my hair. I was recently sent Mixed Roots Curl Control Leave-in lotion and I really really like it.

How often should I trim my hair?

This question is one often discussed by those longing for long hair. In a typical conversation with my friends we're divided, some think you should trim your hair once a month, and should always cut away damage. Other friends say not cutting their hair is how they ended up with long healthy hair. But whats the right answer?

Well the answer isn't a simple one, it depends. Personally, I if I feel like my ends look horrible and thin I just can't resist trimming. So I trim about once or twice a year.

Why I'm ditching protective styling

For the best part of two years I've spent my life 'bunning' my hair and being honest with myself I hate it. It's been my daily hairstyle, only wearing my hair out in the evenings. It makes me feel pretty self conscious, and I've been particularly aware of it recently.

How to make Mixed Hair "Normal"

When I was looking through how people have found my blog through google I found that someone had searched "how to make mixed hair normal" this really upset me and i'm sure it would upset most people finding that a part of them, a part of their race is something they don't consider "normal".

Hair Crush: Rochelle Aytes

Whilst watching my new favourite TV channel, TLC (Yes I love rubbish reality TV such as Cake Boss and Toddlers and Tiaras) I saw an advert for "mistresses". Whilst watching I noticed a young women with stunning hair. After looking her up, I found out she was a natural. She has sunning curls which she sometimes heat styles into straight styles.

Her hair looks so sleek, shiny and healthy. Although I wish for super long hair, I think the length of her hair is stunning and almost tempts me to stay where I am in terms of length.

I love the colour of her hair in the photo above too, it makes me so tempted to colour my hair!

Who are your recent hair crushes and why?

Quick Design Essentials Strengthening Therapy Update!

It's now been 9 weeks since my treatment and it's pretty much all washed out my hair. I was told it lasts up to 12 weeks. During the nine weeks i've washed my hair approximately 13ish times. So we could say the treatment lasts 13 washes rather than 13 weeks.

My hair still feels a bit smoother but it no longer shiny. If I was going to get the treatment re-done I would do so now. So overall this treatment has cost me £16.60 a week! Which is a lot!

In comparison, if I buy it myself it could cost around 8.30 a week or less!

I'll definitely be getting the treatment again and buying myself a bottle.

I may still do a 'final thoughts' post feel free to ask me tons of questions and I'll answer them in that post.

Nail rubbing and hair growth

I  normally avoid bandwagons but after hearing about nail rubbing I thought I'd give it try. I've probably been on a mini nail rubbing experiment for almost a year! In my opinion nail rubbing did increase my hair growth. Nail rubbing actually made my head tingle and when I stopped my hair growth appeared to slow down.

Of course I could be talking complete rubbish, it could be placebo effect or it could be all in my head.

What is nail rubbing?
